For the 17th year, Polyglot Club and Club PEA are teaming up to offer you a full week of skiing and Latin dances, bringing together French people and expats in a friendly atmosphere at the famous La Plagne resort.

In addition to skiing, many activities are on the agenda! Latin dance classes and parties (Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Afro, Reggaeton, …), for all levels from beginner to expert, snowshoe hikes, and much more.
An "Expat" host will be present to build connections within our community.
Create your own schedule as you wish: the base price for the trip (€399) includes 7 nights’ accommodation and access to the parties. Everything else is optional: dance courses, ski pass, accommodation options, …

Resort

The La Plagne resort has been named the most popular ski resort in the world. [*]. It is located in Savoie, very close to other famous resorts (Courchevel, Tignes, Val Thorens, …).

Residence
You will be accommodated in Odalys Vacances apartments (formerly Pierre et Vacances) located at 1930 meters altitude, right in the center of La Plagne (Bellecôte).
At the foot of the residence you will find many shops: supermarket, cinema, swimming pool, nightclubs, bars, restaurants, sauna, bakery, …

Allocation of accommodations
We assign apartments by age range. Generally, there is no more than a 10-year gap between the youngest and the oldest in the same lodging. Mixed-gender apartments but not mixed-gender bedrooms (you can also request in your registration form that there be no mixed-gender apartment).

Our advice to help you choose:
- About 1 out of 4 participants buys a box.
- Advantages of the box: time-saving, excellent value for money, balanced meals, decent quality, very complete box: coffee, tea, toilet paper, dish soap, sauces …
- Disadvantage of the box: you’ll miss out a bit on Savoy specialties available in the resort: cheese, charcuterie, …

If you wish, we organize a group meetup every day at 9:30 am and at 2:00 pm at the foot of the slopes to ski by level groups (without instructor). We set up 6 groups on day 1:

Snowshoe hikes:
We offer hikes every day. You will be accompanied by a mountain guide. Equipment provided (snowshoes and poles). No fitness level required (if you can climb 3 floors without stopping, you’re fine). Maximum group size: 12 people. (Equipment to bring: hiking shoes or boots).
Ski passes
We offer 2 passes (at very preferential rates):
- "La Plagne Intégrale 6 days" pass (134 runs, i.e. the entire La Plagne area): €248 (instead of €348 public price).
- "Paradiski 6 days" pass (234 runs including La Plagne and Les Arcs): €289 (instead of €389 public price).
You can also buy your pass at the resort ticket offices (50 meters from your residence).
For your info, here are some prices:
- 4-hour La Plagne pass = about €54
- Cool Ski pass: about €35 (gives access to several blue runs. Perfect for beginners!)

Are there price increases?
Yes. The earlier you book, the better: the price increases by €20 on December 5 and by €20 on February 5.
What are the payment terms?
Only receipt of your payment validates your registration.

What activities are there in the resort?
You can enjoy the following activities:
- bobsleigh on La Plagne’s Olympic track (Albertville 1992 Olympics)
- sledding at Plagne Centre (2 km run)
- Numerous bars, restaurants, snowmobiles, paragliding, swimming pool, sauna, many snowshoe or cross-country trails, cinema, bowling, ping-pong tables, climbing wall, … La Plagne is one of the largest resorts in France and Europe!
Check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: Reception from 2:00 pm. Keys handed over from 5:00 pm.
Check-out: Saturday between 7:00 am and 10:00 am.
Is there luggage storage?
Yes, at the tourist office opposite the Plagne Bellecôte bus stop. Note: it is closed between 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm.
I don’t know anyone—Is this trip for me?
Yes. Usually, two-thirds of participants come alone and one-third come as a couple or with friends.
Where do participants come from?
Generally 80% of attendees are from France and 20% from elsewhere (Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, …). Participants hear about the trip via dance teachers, word of mouth, Google, commercial partners (dance schools, …)
What should I bring?

Average age of participants?
Generally, the age distribution is as follows:
- one-third of participants are between 25 and 35
- one-third between 35 and 45
- one-third between 45 and 65, but if you’re a bit younger or older, you’re very welcome!
Note that apartment assignments are made by age.
Can I be housed with my friends?
Yes. In our registration form, you can mention the names of the people you want to be housed with.
I have specific dietary needs.
A supermarket at the foot of the residence will allow you to supplement your meal box according to your needs. It is not possible to subtract the meal box from our pricing packages.
Gender balance?
We constantly monitor gender balance. We may pause registrations for the overrepresented gender if we deem it necessary.
I’m a beginner in dance—can I come?
Yes, but we recommend having taken at least 4–5 hours of classes before the trip. If in doubt, contact us at [email protected] and we will advise you.
Wi-Fi in the residence?
No.
I have my own ski equipment.
Our packages are à la carte. You can therefore bring your own equipment and pay less for your stay.
I’ve never skied. Should I take lessons?
Everything is possible. It depends on what you want:
- learn with solid basics: in that case, take the La Plagne pass on our site + ESF lessons + ski rental.
- learn at your own pace without spending too much: in that case, just book the ski rental on our site. On site, you can use the beginner slope which is free (about 200 meters long, right in front of the residence. Many people use it during the week). Some people only do this slope during the week. Possibly midweek, you can buy a COOL SKI pass at the resort counter (about €35 per day) which gives you access to 3 or 4 easy runs in the resort (each 3 to 5 km long): Coolski – Start skiing at La Plagne – Ski safely at La Plagne (skipass-laplagne.com). And if you progress fast, you can buy the LA PLAGNE pass at the end of the week (about €60 for a half-day).
Is there a safe in the apartments? Hair dryer?
Safe: Yes. You can fit a laptop in it.
Hair dryer: Yes. Rental possible at the Maeva reception.
