WHY GO?

Imagine standing on the highest point in Germany, with endless peaks stretching out before you. That’s the Zugspitze, and mid-July is the time to experience it. The snow has been nearly melted and the alpine meadows are bursting with wildflowers.

Here’s the thing—this hike isn’t something just anyone can do. All the spots at the iconic Knorr Hut have been booked solid for months, but I’ve got us covered. I secured these places well in advance so that you can enjoy this incredible route at the best possible time!

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?

  • · Start at the Partnach GorgeOur adventure kicks off with the breathtaking Partnach Gorge—a magical world of rushing waterfalls, carved rock walls, and misty pathways. It feels like stepping into another realm, and this is just the beginning!

· The Stunning Reintal ValleyAs we move through the serene Reintal Valley, the trail reveals its full beauty. Lush green meadows, the soothing murmur of alpine streams, and jagged peaks rising in the distance make this section unforgettable.

· A Night at the Knorr Hut: At 2,052 meters, we’ll rest at the legendary Knorr Hut. Staying here is a rare opportunity—most people can only dream of it. With its cozy mountain charm and panoramic views, it’s the perfect place to recharge and soak in the beauty of the Alps.

· Reaching the Summit On day two, we’ll make our ascent to the summit. There’s nothing quite like standing at the top of Germany, with the world at your feet. This is a moment of pure triumph—and one you’ll never forget.

· The Grand Finale: The Zugspitze Gondola After taking in the awe-inspiring views from the summit, we’ll descend in style with the incredible Zugspitze Cable Car. This isn’t just any gondola—it’s a masterpiece of engineering, the world-record-holding Cable car. It’s the perfect way to wrap up our adventure, gliding over the landscapes we’ve just conquered.

During the hike we would pass the impressive Partnachklamm gorge, the secluded Reintal valley, the Reintalangerhütte and at the evening would approach Knorrhütte. It is possible to have a nice lunch there, at their restaurant, So, you do not need to carry on food with you. During the day we would gain around 1400 meters.

Day 2 (Hike distance <5 km) – After the early breakfast at the hut, we would start our hike to summit. Although it is quite short, we would gain another 870 meters to reach the summit at around mid-day. After relaxing at the top and enjoying the pristine beauty of the majestic and mighty mountains, we will use the cable car to go down to the city.
