This journey is designed for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts who want to explore Serbia beyond the cities and tourist routes.
Over 6 unforgettable days, we hike through the panoramic mountain trails of Zlatibor, stand above the surreal meanders of the Uvac Canyon, explore hidden caves, wander through the untouched wilderness of Tara National Park, and experience the raw beauty of the Balkans on foot.
Along the way, we connect with local traditions, discover charming mountain towns, enjoy authentic Serbian food, and end our adventure in the lively capital of Belgrade, where centuries of history meet buzzing nightlife and bohemian culture.
From breathtaking viewpoints and alpine ridges to peaceful forests and canyon hikes, this trip is all about movement, adventure, and unforgettable landscapes.

Trip details
- Start & End Date: Friday, 17 July – Wednesday, 22 July 2026.
- Meeting Location & Time: Accommodation in Belgrade – meet your local guide anytime after 8 PM on Friday.
- Finishing Location & Time: Accommodation in Belgrade – anytime on Wednesday.
- Note: exact accommodation details and meeting instructions will be shared with confirmed participants closer to the trip date.
- Hiking Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate – hiking at a relaxed to moderate pace on well-marked mountain and forest trails, with moderate elevation gain. Good fitness and sure-footedness are recommended.
Hiking / walking distance
- Day 0: arrival in Belgrade.
- Day 1: 10 km – Tornik Peak hike (+400m elevation gain).
- Day 2: 8-10 km – Uvac Canyon viewpoint hike and Ice Cave exploration (+250m elevation gain).
- Day 3: 12-14 km – Tara National Park forest and ridge trails (+400m elevation gain).
- Day 4: Belgrade walking exploration and optional nightlife.
- Day 5: departure or optional Avala Mountain excursion.

- Community leader and local English-speaking guide throughout the trip.
- 3 nights shared hotel accommodation in Belgrade, with a mix of twin-share and triple-share rooms.
- 2 nights shared apartment / hotel accommodation in Zlatibor.
- Breakfast on all days.
- Transportation for the entire trip starting from the meeting location to the finishing location.
- Cruise on the Uvac Canyon with entry to the Ice Cave.

What is the plan?
Day 0 – Meet & Greet in Belgrade: Arrive in Belgrade and settle into the accommodation. Meet your guide and fellow travelers for a relaxed Balkan-style evening in Serbia’s energetic capital.
Day 1 – Zlatibor Mountains & Tornik Peak Hike: After breakfast, we journey into the heart of western Serbia towards Zlatibor, one of the Balkans’ most scenic mountain regions. The hike follows rolling meadows, pine forests and panoramic ridgelines up to Tornik Peak (1,496m). We take the long Golden Gondola lift and start the panoramic hike from the top before checking into the mountain accommodation.
Day 2 – Uvac Canyon Adventure & Ice Cave: We explore the famous Uvac Canyon with a scenic boat cruise, then hike up to the iconic panoramic viewpoint. Later, we visit Ledenica Ice Cave, filled with dramatic rock formations and underground chambers.
Day 3 – Tara National Park Wilderness Trails: We continue into Tara National Park, one of Serbia’s most pristine natural regions and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The day includes forest trails, viewpoints, peaceful meadows, hidden paths and a stop at Dubnica Monastery before returning to Belgrade in the evening.
Day 4 – Belgrade: History, Underground & Culture: We slow things down and discover Serbia’s capital: Kalemegdan Fortress, Saint Sava Temple, Underground Belgrade tunnels, hidden history, Skadarlija bohemian quarter, traditional cafes, bars and local culture. In the evening, the group gathers for a final dinner.
Day 5 – Farewell Serbia: After breakfast, we say our goodbyes in Belgrade. For those staying longer, there is an optional half-day trip to Avala Mountain, offering panoramic views over Belgrade and the surrounding landscapes before departure.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
- Free cancellation up to 7 full days before the start of the trip. After that, cancel up to 5 days before the trip to get a 50% refund.
- If the event is cancelled by Urbanature Travel (UNT), you will get a full refund (excluding any airfares), unless you have purchased a flight inclusive package directly with Urbanature Travel (UNT) in which case you will get a refund including the flights.
- Please note that the program, as well as the venue is subject to change due to extreme weather conditions, as well as to the characteristics and size of the group.
- Urbanature Travel (UNT) needs a minimum of 5 participants for this trip to take place, else we may cancel this trip.
- UNT reserves the right to cancel the trip, modify the route, change the accommodation or re-schedule hikes and without prior notice.
- UNT is not responsible for any loss, theft, damage or personal injury that occurs during the trip.
