WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?

    • Discover StavangerStavanger is Norway’s fourth largest city with around 120,000 inhabitants and offers a fascinating mix of old and new. Its history goes back deep into the Middle Ages. Stavanger was once a quiet coastal market and later an important fishing port. Stavanger’s old centre has some of the most beautiful and best-preserved wooden buildings anywhere in Norway, many dating back to the 18th century. It’s all very pretty, and in summer the waterfront comes alive in the best port-town style.
    • Fargegaten – Ovre Holmegate (The Colourful street): Øvre Holmegate is now one of the major attractions in Stavanger. Locals call the street Fargegata (the street of colours).
    • Lysefjord Scenic Cruise: Cruise magnificent Lysefjord, stunning in its summer glow, past charming islands, sheer mountains and mighty waterfalls. See Fantahåla (Vagabond’s Cave of legend) and gaze up in awe at Preikestolen. At towering Hengjanefossen waterfall, the crew brings the bow so close to the falls that you risk getting your face doused with delightful spray.
    • Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock): Pulpit Rock is believed to have been formed centuries ago due to frost erosion that washed away all loose soil on the rock. The result is a conspicuous cliff standing high overlooking the Lysefjord. The result of frost erosion led to one of the most spectacular sceneries in Europe, which shows nature’s architecture at its best. Preikestolen is a popular tourist attraction destination in Norway, drawing local and international tourists.
    • Hiking Trail to Preikestolen: This iconic hike in Norway involves walking along a 2.5-mile trail to Pulpit Rock from the trailhead. A round-trip hike will see you covering around 5 miles taking around 4 hours. There is a lot to see along this hill trail to Pulpit Rock. From the wet area with a wooden bridge, climb the next section with stairs, which is also the steepest. Close to the top, you open up to a vast open area called Tjødane. This area has three small lakes and an emergency shelter. The Pulpit Rock hike continues past the lakes where you reach the Preikestolen plateau.
    • Kjeragbolten : Norway’s terrifying photo opportunity: One of the most popular photo opportunities in Norway is Kjeragbolten . Just because of its strange appearance, it is a destination that everyone should see with their own eyes. It seems rather inconspicuous when we talk about a boulder stuck in a mountain. In our opinion, Kjeragbolten is the best proof that mother nature provides the best templates for an impressive picture on the camera. No human would ever have been able to form such a formation!!!
    • Lysefjord: From Kjeragbolten , as well as from Mount Kjerag itself, you can also get a stunning view of the Lysefjord . This 42 km long fjord is located about 25 km east of the city of Stavanger. The name means “bright fjord” in German and is derived from the light coloured granite rocks on its sides. To the east of the fjord lies the small, almost isolated village of Lysebotn. At the western end of the Lysefjord, however, you can visit the villages of Forsand and Oanes. There are a few other very small and scattered settlements along the fjord. On the sides you can discover terrifying rock faces that fall almost vertically over 1000 metres into the water. However, the fjord is not only long and narrow, but also very deep. In places it is as deep as the nearby mountains.
    • Trolltunga: One of the most awe-inspiring cliffs in Norway, situated about 1,100 meters above sea level and hovering some 700 metres above Lake Ringedalsvatnet. Trolltunga juts out at right angles to the mountainside, like a huge troll’s tongue carved in stone. It has been there for thousands of years, just waiting for you to make your way to its edge and to admire the fantastic views.
    • Hiking to Trolltunga: This hike has now been certified as a “Norwegian Scenic Hike” and rightly so as the hike is incredibly scenic with phenomenal views of lakes & snow-capped mountains. The hike goes through high-mountain terrain up to Trolltunga (1,180 metres above sea level) with the trail to Trolltunga being part of an ancient thoroughfare between western and eastern Norway, across the Hardangervidda plateau.
    • Buarbreen Glacier Hike: One of the most popular hikes in the Hardangerfjord region. The views of the glacier itself are spectacular, but just as beautiful are the views along the way. The bluish shimmering glacier tongue and right next to it a rushing waterfall makes this hike a very special experience.
    • Discovering OddaConsidered the secret capital of Hardanger. A place framed by two national parks, namely the Hardangerviddas, a unique plateau in Norway and the Folgefonna National Park with the 3rd largest glacier in Norway, at the inner end of the Sørfjord a branch of the Hardangerfjord.
    • TjørnadalsfossenMammoth stepped waterfall dropping a total of 515 meters (1,690 feet) in 6-7 distinct but marginally separated steps.
    • Låtefossen: This 165-metre tall “double waterfall” is unique in that it consists of two separate streams gushing down from Lake Lotevatnet. These streams dramatically converge just before flowing under the old, stone, six-arched bridge into the river Grønsdalslona.
    • Discover Bergen (Optional & time permitting): Known as the “The Fjord capital of the world”, Bergen is surrounded by mountains and fjords, including Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord. Bryggen (UNESCO World Heritage site) features colorful wooden houses on the old wharf, once a center of the Hanseatic League’s trading empire. The Fløibanen Funicular goes up Fløyen Mountain for panoramic views and hiking trails.
    • RIB Boat Fjord Safari (Optional): Historical fjord safari in the Hardangerfjord – a fjord filled with living cultural heritage, surrounded by massive mountains clad in glacier ice. Along the route, you will see different attractions, spots of wildlife, and the professional guide will tell fascinating natural- and cultural stories from the area. There is also a chance of seeing the porpoise or a soaring eagle.
    • Norwegian Sauna (Optional): Finish your epic hiking trip with a fresh fjord bath and a steaming sauna while enjoying the views of the fjord and the mountains.
    • Norwegian Fjord Experience (Norway in a Nutshell: If selecting Option b while purchasing ticket): Popular, self-guided tour package designed to showcase some of Norway’s most stunning fjord and mountain scenery in a relatively short amount of time and doable in a single day. It involves a combination of train journeys (including the famous Flåm Railway, known as one of the world’s most scenic), a fjord cruise through UNESCO-listed fjords like the Nærøyfjord, and bus transfers, connecting major cities like Oslo and Bergen with charming fjord villages like Flåm and Gudvangen. It’s a convenient way to experience a concentrated dose of Norway’s breathtaking natural beauty without extensive planning.Note: This option will also include 1/ 2 x nights accommodation, boat cruise in the Fjord, Scenic train journey & any possible buses needed to be taken.
