🌅 WHY GO?

Fuerteventura is one of the most breathtaking and diverse islands of the Canaries — a place where landscapes shift dramatically from golden desert dunes to volcanic craters, wild Atlantic cliffs, tranquil lagoons, and quiet whitewashed villages. In just minutes, you’ll move from otherworldly sand seas to ancient lava fields, from calm turquoise coves to windswept beaches that stretch endlessly into the horizon.

We’ll wander across the famous Corralejo dunes, hike up the rim of volcanic craters with panoramic views, explore the raw west coast, and visit the historic inland towns that reveal the island’s true soul. And did you know? Fuerteventura is home to some of Europe’s clearest skies, making it a magical place for stargazing — the perfect backdrop for a New Year’s celebration under the open Atlantic sky.

Let’s discover it together!

🌟 WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS?

🏜️ Corralejo Sand Dunes & Natural Park

The Corralejo Sand Dunes are the crown jewel of Fuerteventura — an endless sea of golden sand sculpted by the Atlantic winds. Walking here feels like stepping into a desert bordered by turquoise waters. As you wander barefoot across the warm dunes, the horizon stretches wide and open, offering a rare sense of freedom. The contrast of rolling sand, volcanic peaks in the distance, and the shimmering ocean creates a surreal landscape perfect for photography, meditation, or simply taking in the silence.

🌋 Calderón Hondo Volcano Hike

This volcanic hike offers a stunning look into the island’s ancient past. The trail winds gently upward across rust-colored terrain and solidified lava fields until you reach the massive crater rim. From the top, sweeping views unfold: endless volcanic cones, Corralejo’s coastline, and even the silhouettes of Lanzarote and Lobos Island on the horizon. Standing at the edge of the crater, you feel the raw, elemental power that shaped Fuerteventura thousands of years ago — a humbling and awe-inspiring experience.

🌊 Wild West Coast & Aguas Verdes Cliffs

The west coast of Fuerteventura is a dramatic masterpiece sculpted by the Atlantic. At Aguas Verdes, powerful waves crash against rugged cliffs, creating natural pools, blowholes, and rock formations untouched by tourism. The hike along this coastline is both energizing and captivating, revealing the island’s wilder, more untamed personality. It’s a place where nature feels raw and magnificent — and where every viewpoint seems made for the perfect postcard.

🏞️ Betancuria – The Historic Heart of the Island

Nestled among soft green hills, Betancuria is a charming escape into Fuerteventura’s cultural roots. Cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses, traditional cafés, and a peaceful village square all reflect a slower way of life. As the island’s former capital, Betancuria carries centuries of history, making it a beautiful pause between hikes. Surrounding viewpoints such as Morro Velosa offer breathtaking panoramas of rolling valleys, volcanic landscapes, and the vast interior of the island.

🌅 El Cotillo & Northern Lagoons

A blend of tranquility and rugged beauty, El Cotillo is known for its calm lagoon beaches and wild surf coast. On one side, natural pools with crystal-clear water invite gentle swims; on the other, towering waves crash dramatically against volcanic rock. The iconic lighthouse, colorful fishing harbour, and golden sunset views give this village a serene, laid-back charm that captures the spirit of island life.

🌈 Sotavento Lagoon – Walking on Water

On the southeastern coast lies the shifting lagoon of Sotavento — a dreamlike landscape where sandbars and shallow turquoise waters merge into one. Depending on the tide, the lagoon looks like a mirror stretching toward the horizon. Walking here feels like gliding across water, with soft breezes, warm light, and the sound of the Atlantic creating a peaceful, almost meditative mood.

🌌 New Year’s Eve Under the Stars

Few places in Europe offer skies as clear and luminous as Fuerteventura. On New Year’s Eve, we celebrate right by the sea — with stars overhead, waves whispering against the shore, and a gentle island breeze welcoming the year ahead. It’s a magical, grounding experience that brings together nature, community, and the promise of new beginnings.
