Getting There and Local Transportation
Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Stann Creek District, about 20 miles southwest of Dangriga. The entrance is 6 miles from the paved Southern Highway, accessible via a well-maintained dirt road from Maya Centre. Visitors can fly into Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport and take a domestic flight to Dangriga Airstrip, followed by a taxi or shuttle to the sanctuary. Alternatively, renting a car in Belize City allows for a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive to the sanctuary.
Once at the sanctuary, exploring on foot is recommended. The compact size and informative signposts along the trails make navigation straightforward. Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes, use insect repellent, and carry plenty of water.

The sanctuary offers basic overnight accommodations, including a campground, cabins, and dormitories. Visitors can self-cook at these facilities. A small shop at the entrance collects a BZ$10 entry fee and sells T-shirts, books, cold drinks, and other essentials.
