The official trip page schedules this departure from Friday, October 2 to Wednesday, October 7, 2026. For Options 1 and 3, meet at Rovaniemi Airport or the Rovaniemi accommodation from 16:00 local time. Options 1 and 2 finish at Rovaniemi Airport by 12:00 local time on Wednesday; the shorter Option 3 finishes at Rovaniemi Airport on Sunday without a fixed published time.

• Option 1 — five nights: Friday to Wednesday, covering the complete six-day sequence.
• Option 2 — four nights: Saturday to Wednesday; arrival can be arranged at any time on Saturday at Rovaniemi Airport or the accommodation.
• Option 3 — two nights: Friday to Sunday; this shorter package must be selected in the Billetweb package options.

The source also advertises departures on October 23-28 and in December, but this ETT2 page and its booking link concern only the October 2-7 departure.

Arctic highlights

Northern Lights hunting

Join a guided search for the Aurora Borealis on each night included in the selected package: two, four or five nights. The guide chooses viewing areas according to weather forecasts and local topography, explains the history and science of the phenomenon, and can offer camera support when required. The official trip page states that if no Northern Lights are seen, participants may join another Northern Lights trip free of charge, excluding flights; check the exact conditions attached to this offer before booking.

Rovaniemi and Santa Claus Village

Cross the Arctic Circle, visit Santa's official office and the Arctic Post Office, and explore the illuminated setting of Santa Claus Village before discovering Rovaniemi and its surroundings.

Inari and Sámi culture

The journey passes through Inari, presented by the source as the cultural centre of the Finnish Sámi. The overview mentions Sámi museums and traditions, while the confirmed included list specifically provides a guided visit to the Sámi Parliament and a reindeer-feeding experience.

Roadtrip to Nordkapp

Drive from Finland's snowy forests and fells across the Norwegian frontier to North Cape. The plateau rises on a 307-metre cliff above the Arctic Ocean and is marked by its globe sculpture. When conditions allow, visit the North Cape museum and visitor centre, learn about early expeditions and watch its panoramic film through the four seasons.

Detailed six-day plan

Day 1 — Arrival and first Northern Lights hunt

Travel to Rovaniemi and meet the guide at the airport or accommodation according to the confirmed arrival arrangement. The group then sets out for its first night of Northern Lights hunting.

Day 2 — Santa Claus Village and Rovaniemi

After breakfast, travel to Santa Claus Village, meet Santa and cross the Arctic Circle. Continue with time in Rovaniemi and its surroundings, followed by dinner and another Northern Lights outing.

Day 3 — Finnish Lapland to Karigasniemi

Check out and drive approximately 450 km, or 280 miles, from Rovaniemi to Karigasniemi. The route moves through boreal forest, open fells and Sámi heartland. A further Northern Lights hunt is planned after the day's journey.

Day 4 — North Cape and fishing villages

After breakfast, cross into Norway for the roadtrip to North Cape, stopping at colourful fishing villages when possible. Explore the visitor centre, museum and plateau views subject to weather. Stop for dinner on the return journey, then continue Northern Lights hunting on the way back to Finland.

Day 5 — Western Lapland and return to Rovaniemi

Travel back through Finland's western corridor as the landscape changes from open Arctic tundra near the Norwegian border to taiga forest and rounded fells. The section around Pokka is one of the quietest parts of the drive and offers a strong sense of Arctic wilderness. Finish with the final Northern Lights hunt included in the complete package.

Day 6 — Departure

Check out and transfer to Rovaniemi Airport. Earlier airport drop-offs can be arranged for participants with early flights.

Not included, optional and seasonal activities

• Flights to and from Rovaniemi are excluded. Any separate flight- or train-inclusive arrangement is outside the current Billetweb package unless explicitly added to the selected ticket.
• Lunches and dinners are excluded. Dining arrangements may be coordinated, but participants pay for their own meals.
• Other optional activities may be proposed closer to departure; their availability, price and booking instructions are supplied in the event coordination group.
• Rovaniemi can be reached by air or by the Santa Express night train from Helsinki.
• Snowmobile and husky-sled activities are advertised only for departures from late November through March and are therefore not part of this October itinerary unless separately confirmed as a paid optional activity.
• Hiking is entirely optional and no hiking difficulty is assigned.

Meeting and finishing arrangements

• Options 1 and 3: meet at Rovaniemi Airport or the Rovaniemi accommodation from 16:00.
• Option 2: meet at Rovaniemi Airport or the accommodation at any time on Saturday.
• Earlier arrivals should be declared in the participant sheet shared closer to departure so pickup can be arranged.
• The exact accommodation is supplied to confirmed participants through the coordination group.
• Rovaniemi Airport is approximately 15-20 minutes by car or taxi from the accommodation. The source estimates a taxi at around €35 and says one can be organized for earlier arrivals or later departures.
• Options 1 and 2: finish at Rovaniemi Airport by 12:00 local time on Wednesday.
• Option 3: finish at Rovaniemi Airport on Sunday; the source does not publish a fixed finishing time.

Weather and practical conditions

The published group size is up to 20 people. October temperatures may fall to approximately -10°C. All activity guides speak English. The route and the North Cape visit remain weather-dependent, so participants should monitor the preparation information shared after booking and bring suitable Arctic clothing.

The current booking screen marks the listed prices as fees included.

Hotel room upgrades

Billetweb also lists the following supplements: twin room with breakfast for five nights €300; single room with breakfast for four nights €480; twin room with breakfast for two nights €180; and single room with breakfast for two nights €260. Two separate four-night supplements carry the same label, “Twin Share Room in Hotel + Breakfast”, at €350 and €580. Their different applicability is not explained on the booking screen, so select an upgrade only after confirming which one matches the chosen package.

After booking

• Confirmed participants receive access to the event coordination group to meet trip companions and coordinate arrival arrangements.
• The group description links to a detailed trip briefing covering what to expect and how to prepare.
• Closer to departure, the guide plans a group video call to review the briefing and answer questions.
• A shared Google Photos album is provided for participants to upload and view trip photos and videos.
• Exact accommodation details and the arrival information sheet are supplied closer to departure.

Cancellation and operating conditions

• Cancellation is eligible for a 100% trip refund, excluding flights, up to 14 full days before departure. Cancellation up to five days before departure is eligible for a 50% trip refund, excluding flights.
• If the organizer cancels the event, the trip price is refunded in full, excluding airfares. When a flight-inclusive package was purchased directly from the organizer, the published policy states that the flights are also refunded.
• A minimum of five participants is required. The trip may be cancelled if this threshold is not reached.
• The itinerary, activities and venues may be adjusted because of weather, safety considerations or the size and dynamics of the group.
• The organizer may cancel the trip, modify routes or accommodation, or reschedule hikes and activities when necessary, including without prior notice.
• Guides may remove a participant whose behaviour is disruptive or unsafe, or who is considered unfit for an activity.
• The published conditions state that the organizer is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, illness, accidents or personal injury during the trip. Participants should review the complete current conditions before booking.
