About this trip
Travel overnight from Paris for an afternoon and evening in Lyon during its Festival of Lights. Discover the illuminated monuments and artistic projections, the Christmas atmosphere in the city centre, the lanes and traboules of Old Lyon, and the panorama from Fourvière hill.
From the projections on Saint-Jean Cathedral to the traditional candles placed in windows, this December celebration transforms Lyon after dark. Free time also lets you explore the Christmas markets and sample local specialities at your own expense.

- Around 14:00: arrival in Lyon.
- 14:00–23:00: free time to discover the city, its Christmas atmosphere and the Festival of Lights.
- 23:30: overnight coach departure for Paris.
- 06:00–06:30 on Sunday 6 December: expected arrival in Paris.
Times may change because of traffic, weather or other unforeseen conditions.
The Festival of Lights
At the beginning of December, Lyon's monuments, squares and façades become the setting for light installations and projections. Saint-Jean Cathedral is one of the emblematic locations, while the lumignons placed in windows continue a tradition more than 150 years old.
Places to discover during your free time
- Old Lyon and its traboules.
- Notre-Dame de Fourvière Basilica and the panorama over the city.
- Place Bellecour and the Christmas markets.
- Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse.
- Parc de la Tête d'Or.
- Musée des Confluences and Lyon Opera, subject to opening times and admission.
These are suggestions for independent free time rather than guided or included visits. Public transport, the funicular, museum tickets, food and drinks remain at your own expense.

For day trips, optional cancellation insurance provides a 100% refund with supporting documentation for an eligible reason, or a 70% refund without supporting documentation. Without insurance, the ticket is non-refundable but may be transferred by providing the replacement participant's first and last name.
