Grasse and Tourrettes-sur-Loup: perfume and Violet Festival
Polyglot Club invites you on a friendly day trip to Grasse and Tourrettes-sur-Loup on Sunday, March 7, 2027, with coach transport from Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. This outing brings together two expressions of the Côte d’Azur’s floral heritage: perfume-making and the Violet Festival.
The morning is devoted to discovering a perfumery in Grasse. From raw materials to finished fragrances, the visit introduces the work behind familiar scents and leaves time to smell and compare creations. We then continue to Tourrettes-sur-Loup, where stone lanes, small squares and the festival provide a different setting for the afternoon.
You will have time to choose your lunch, explore the village and enjoy the stalls and activities offered during our visit. The flower parade and detailed entertainment schedule depend on the official 2027 programme; their times will be specified when available.
Throughout the day, our French- and English-speaking Polyglot Club host accompanies the group and encourages conversation between participants. Come alone or with friends, follow the suggested walk or explore independently, and meet the group at the agreed times.

PROGRAMME – GRASSE AND VIOLET FESTIVAL
1. Departure from Marseille, then Aix-en-Provence
- Marseille : 06:30.
- Aix-en-Provence : 07:15.
Meet 15 minutes before departure at the meeting point detailed in the practical information below. Timings are provisional and will be confirmed with the coach operator.
2. Grasse and perfume
Expected arrival around 10:15. Enjoy a free introduction to perfume-making at a perfumery, subject to a group visiting slot. No paid perfume-making workshop is included.
Understanding the perfumer’s craft
The morning begins a day devoted to flowers and regional craftsmanship. At the perfume factory, discover how raw materials become fragrant compositions and finished products. Depending on the factory’s visitor route, you can see production spaces and learn about the differences between perfumes, eaux de toilette and soaps.
Time in the shop allows you to smell and compare creations, without any obligation to buy. The factory and group time slot will be confirmed before sales open; making your own perfume is not part of the visit. An example of a perfume-factory visit in Grasse.
3. Tourrettes-sur-Loup and the Violet Festival
Arrival around noon, free time for lunch, then explore the village and festival until approximately 16:30. The event is announced for 6–7 March 2027 with free access. Detailed activities and parade times will be added when published; no parade time is guaranteed yet.
Independent lunch break
Choose a restaurant or bring your picnic. Meals and drinks are at your own expense. Enjoy conversation with fellow participants during the break, while leaving enough time to reach the next meeting point.
A hilltop village and its floral tradition
After arrival, choose a lunch spot or enjoy your picnic before exploring the village lanes. This stop is discovered on foot: stone façades, small squares and shops provide opportunities for photographs and conversation with fellow travellers.
Violets are part of Tourrettes-sur-Loup’s identity. Growing the flowers and carefully assembling bouquets are local skills celebrated by the festival. Enjoy the stalls and activities actually offered during our visit; the flower parade, its timing and any demonstrations will depend on the official 2027 programme.
You can alternate between the festivities and a village stroll at your own pace, while respecting the meeting place and time announced by the coordinator. No workshop or greenhouse visit has been reserved for this excursion. Tourrettes-sur-Loup’s violet-growing tradition.
The village has sloping streets. The coach may drop us outside the centre: allow for walking and return punctually to the meeting point. Any municipal shuttle remains to be checked.

4. Meeting point and return
Exploring ends around 16:30, followed by regrouping at the point indicated by the coordinator. Allow enough time to walk back to the coach from the village.
Final return expected around 20:15, traffic permitting. Exact return points and timings will be confirmed with Sumian.

Bring comfortable shoes, water, sun or rain protection and clothing suitable for the season. Return times are approximate and depend on traffic and access. For coastal trips, swimming and access to natural areas depend on weather and local restrictions.
Minors must be accompanied by parents, legal representatives or guardians; a waiver cannot replace supervision. An unaccompanied minor cannot participate and will be refunded. Discuss accessibility needs in advance so safe participation can be assessed; a support person is recommended where needed.
Arrive punctually: late arrival or failure to pay the balance may prevent participation.
