Exploring Bollywood Farms

Bollywood Farms, formerly known as Bollywood Veggies, offers a unique escape from Singapore’s urban hustle. Founded in 2000 by Ivy Singh-Lim and her husband Lim Ho Seng, this farm is more than just a place to grow produce. It’s a testament to sustainable agriculture and a slice of countryside life in Singapore.

The Farm Experience

Spanning over 10 acres, Bollywood Farms is a haven of organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs. The farm is dedicated to sustainable practices, and the staff is passionate about sharing their knowledge. Guided tours are available, providing insights into organic farming techniques and the challenges faced by local farmers. These tours are led by knowledgeable guides who offer a deep dive into the farm’s operations, from maintaining soil fertility to crop rotation.

Visitors can also engage in hands-on farming activities. Whether you’re planting seeds or harvesting vegetables, these experiences offer a tangible connection to the food we consume and the effort involved in its production.

Culinary Delights at Poison Ivy Bistro

After a tour, head to the Poison Ivy Bistro, where the menu showcases the farm’s organic produce. The bistro serves a variety of dishes, including local favorites like nasi lemak and innovative international dishes with a local twist. Don’t miss the farm-to-table salad, featuring greens picked fresh from the fields. The bistro also offers refreshing drinks made from locally sourced fruits and herbs, providing a delightful culinary experience amidst nature.

Getting There

Bollywood Farms is located at 100 Neo Tiew Road, Singapore. Despite its seemingly remote location, it’s accessible through several means:

  • By Car: Driving is the most convenient option, with ample parking available on-site.
  • By Public Transport: Take the MRT to Kranji Station, then a taxi for a scenic 15-minute ride through the countryside.
  • By Shuttle Bus: A shuttle service from Kranji MRT Station operates on weekends and public holidays, simplifying access to the farm.

Once there, navigating the farm is straightforward, with well-maintained pathways and clear signposts guiding you to various attractions.

When to Visit

Bollywood Farms is open year-round, but the cooler months from November to February offer the most pleasant weather. During this time, the farm is vibrant with blooming flowers and ripe fruits. However, weekends and public holidays can be crowded, so consider a weekday visit for a quieter experience.

Plan your visit to Bollywood Farms for a refreshing blend of nature, culture, and culinary exploration in Singapore’s countryside.
