The drive from Coban to Laguna Lachua takes about four hours via AV-9 toward Chisec, then west on the Franje Transversal. The road conditions can be challenging, especially during the rainy season, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended.
- By Bus: From Coban, take a chicken bus toward Semuc Champey and get off at Chisec. Then, take another bus toward Playa Grande and ask the driver to stop at Laguna Lachua. The total journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours.
- Trekking: From the park entrance, a well-marked trail leads through the jungle for 2.4 km to the lake. The trek is scenic and takes about two hours. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks.
